Abstract:
This session will present a IWB transition framework that was developed as a result of a 18-month research project conducted by Trudy Sweeney from Flinders University. The framework has been accepted for presentation at the national conference this year.
The session will describe the design of the project and the completed framework that focused on tracking the learning journey of eight primary school teachers (R-7, including specialist teachers) as they strived to improve their classroom pedagogy.
Participants attending this session will be provided with a copy of the framework (suitable for use with all IWBs) and learn how they could use this as a tool to guide their professional learning and/or leadership of change using IWBs in their school. The indicators for each level will be discussed and examples of practice described. A brief overview of the existing IWB research will also be provided as a contextual frame of reference.
This session will be of interest to all teachers and school leaders K-13 wishing to use IWBs as a catalyst for pedagogic change in classrooms.

Abstract:
On June 29th to July 5th 2008 I participated in the inaugural Study Tour organised by the Australian Council of Computers in Education (ACCE). This provided me with the opportunity to visit schools in New Zealand, visit Oracle, Apple and Google in San Francisco and attend the National Education Computers in Education Conference (NECC) in San Antonio. This presentation is a synopsis of the best presentations of this 12-day tour.
This session will discuss:
- The television studio at Marina View School, NZ.
- Personal eportfolios using web 2.0 tools at Bucklands Beach Intermediate School, NZ
- Key concepts about 21st Century learning from Oracle Education
- The mission of Apple related to education
- Latest developments from Google
- Highlights from the NECC conference (including keynotes, spotlight sessions, cell phones, Second Life and programming using Scratch).
- Reflections on the value of the tour with a wonderful group of people!
