Let's Meet Moodle
Friday, 2:00 to 3:30 pm, ASMS Studio 4
Currently practicing for retirement! Teaching 2 days a week at Lameroo Regional Community School where I teach and have taught ICT across the curriculum from Years 3 to 11, Mathematics, Science and Senior School Mathematical Applications. As an ICT Coach for Learning Technologies I present a rang of Learning and Teaching courses across several country districts. My current interests are in On-line Learning and Communities and teaching and learning on-line using a range of delivery vehicles - video-conferencing, Centra and Moodle. To this end I administer the school's Moodle Site, Centra site and EduCONNECT. These adequately occupy my non-teaching time - developing Moodle course for teacher professional learning and student learning. In a former life, I lived and worked in Papua New Guinea for eight years from just before Independence in 1975. Initially teaching, I moved into educational administration, curriculum development, provincial and national education planning, executive development training and provincial in-service training and development. On return to Australia, I taught in a high school before moving into the field of English as a Second Language as an Area Adviser and Country Region Support Network Coordinator. It was here that I continued my tutoring and presenting of training and development courses for educators.

System by doing a Moodle Course. Aimed at Moodle 'newbies'!
A short ‘course’ for
participants to meet, explore and discover what Moodle is and how it can be
used as a learning anywhere–anytime tool. Once you have logged-in and mastered the basics of Moodle site navigation, the course aims to:
-
Introduce you to Moodle
- reveal to you what Moodle is
- demonstrate to you how some teachers have used Moodle
- enable you to explore/use some of the tools that support learning as you progress
through the course
- guide you through developing a personal Avatar that can be used for your Moodle Personal Profile or elsewhere.
