Are YOU a teacher who has a special interestin the use of ICTs (Information and Communications Technologies) in teaching and learning? Would YOU like to conduct workshops or presentations for CEGSA? Then we invite you to register interest in becoming a presenter through CEGSA.

Presenting for CEGSA

Step 1: Identify the area in which you feel you have a particular skill, for example:

  • Maths and ICT with Junior Primary students
  • On-line learning with Primary students
  • ICT in History with Secondary students

Step 2: Determine which days would suit you best to run your workshop. Workshops are usually conducted  for 2 or 2.5 hours sometime between 4.00 and 7pm.

Step 3: Organise the venue

  • Determine an appropriate venue (usually a school) and request permission to run your workshop there - this school is entitled to two complementary registrations for your workshop
  • The CEGSA office should be notified well ahead of time so that places are kept for these staff members

Step 4: Contact CEGSA via email with

  • workshop name
  • overview of workshop and outcomes expected
  • date, day and time
  • venue for workshop
  • attach proposed handout for participants (MS Word format)
  • permission given by host school
  • if it's your first workshop and you would like some advice please contact the office. 

Step 5: The workshop

  • CEGSA will advertise your workshop - to maximise this publicity the workshop submission process should be completed by Wednesday of Week 5 of the preceding term 

Step 6: At the workshop

  • Get participants to check the spelling of their name on the list and tick that they are present
  • Run workshop - enjoy!
  • Ensure participants complete feedback form at your workshop
  • Fill in tax invoice claim form (available from CEGSA web site)

Step 7: After the workshop send to the CEGSA office the completed:-

  • List of participants
  • Tax invoice claim form together with either (as required by the Australian Taxation Office) :
    • your ABN (Australian Business Number), or
    • a completed Hobby form

Please note: Declaration of earnings to the tax office is your responsibility

  • As an independent service provider to CEGSA it is necessary for you to have an ABN or have filled in a Hobby form.
  • No tax is withheld from the payment
  • Payment is $90 per hour for the first 2 hours, $75 for subsequent hours
  • If you purchase and offer refreshments you can claim a maximum of $1 per head
  • If you have to pay the school for photocopying your handouts then you can claim a maximum of $1 per head to cover this cost
