Thursday 17th July, 2.10pm
ASMS Studio 4 Ground Floor
Karen is currently the Deputy Principal at Ingle Farm East Primary School and a Learning Technologies coach.
Two years ago when she worked at Technology School of the Future she decided to experience for herself what Marc Prensky was on about. Since that time she has moved through the stages of VL (virtual life) addiction. She now balances her RL (real life) and VL precariously.

Abstract:
Second Life is a 3-D virtual world entirely built and owned by its residents. Since opening to the public in 2003, it is now inhabited by approximately 7 000 000 people from around the globe.
Workshop participants will create their own avatar and get a feel for Secondlife.
This workshop will explore online role-playing games and discuss the ways they are currently being used in educational settings and the implications for us as educators.
