To get started with Ed.VoiceThread, the all the user needs to do register for an account by clicking on the 'register' button and away you go.

Easy to Use
   

One of the  features of Ed.VoiceThread is that it is simple to use. The layout of the page is uncluttered and easy to navigate.

 

The main page has various videos explaining how to use the application to help beginners. For example how to set up the microphones on different computers

The ease of use makes Ed.VoiceThread a suitable platform for people with various computing ability levels including junior primary children right through to high school.

Accessibility    

As Ed.VoiceThread is a web2 tool, can be easily be incorporated into the classroom - you just need a computer and internet access.

This web tool allows teachers the opportunity to invite other educators, students, parents and relatives to share  and interact with the students’ work. Students are able to proudly display their learning, increase their knowledge base by interacting with other student's work and increase their self confidence as they listen to the positive comments incorporated into their voicethread work.

Unlike a normal PowerpPoint presentation, Ed.VoiceThread allows the viewer to leave a comment on the work they view. This comment can be either audio or text.

Comments enhance Ed.VoiceThread as a learning tool as it allows feedback to occur from student to student and teacher to student.

Doodling

   

Ed.VoiceThread contains a 'doodling' feature which allows the user to draw over the pictures or video they have uploaded. This allows students to further explain or express things by drawing arrows or circling points of interest in a picture/video.

General Uses    

Ed.VoiceThread has many uses in education.  It can be used to create annotated videos/pictures,  to tell digital stories,  and allows students (and teachers) to be creative! It can be used to promote peer teaching as students can share work between classrooms, homes and schools.
