Comments:From snow0011 - 11/15/09 8:41 PM Hey everyone, I recently recieved an email from Glogster EDU reguarding a new version which will soon be available. The new version addresses some of the issue we raised such as increasing teacher control over student actions.
From cole0189 - 11/14/09 11:24 PM Hey Melissa & Nicole, it seems you have a very popular page to comment on, so I may as well join in the fun! I really enjoyed your presentation and this page is effectively designed and certainly grabs the readers attention. The only suggestion I have for improvement relates to the examples of use within the classroom, but as it is such a new tool I can understand why there are not many teachers using this in practice. Maybe this will be a feature of future updates to your page, as more and more teachers learn about how great the tool is to engage their students. My thoughts for overcoming some of the limitations of this tool which you clearly point out, relate to an idea about drawing up a 'Contract' which is signed by the teacher, parent/ guardian/ care-giver to diminish off task behaviour & misuse of the tool. Well that's all from me, great job. From osha0016 - 11/13/09 11:00 AM I had never heard of this tool before, so when it came time to choose one I thought this would be a fun one to look at. Sadly you beat me to it. So it was with much anticipation that I looked through your web page. It it very informative and well set out. Maybe a few more example of how we could use it in the classroom, topics and so on. But overall pretty good. I also enjoyed the presentaion on your tool. Glogster looks like it would fun to teach and learn. There are a lot of possibilities and while ther are some issues with login and passwords, I think that using Glogster once or twice in a year would engage students. I enjoyed all aspects well done! From beag0008 - 11/9/09 2:37 PM I just found this link that suggests ways it can be used in the classroom - there are linked examples on this page too e.g. 'assignment sheet' as a glog, providing lots of maths links
From tsweeney - 11/7/09 6:06 PM Thank you Melissa and Nicole for adding this page. Edu Glogster appears to have potential but I agree that teachers would need to use it wisely. I was unable to play the video and audio in your glog. Perhaps this is another challenge.
From lipc0003 - 11/6/09 2:51 PM This page is really well structured and easy to follow. Perhaps another way this tool could be used is as a way of pulling together the final products of students work with other ICT tools. An example of this could be the production of a Glog as an amalgamation of an integrated unit of work. This could potentially be a dynamic and new way of using of the tool and may help to move away from simply assembling a traditional-style poster online. It will be great to see some of the work being produced by students as this tool becomes used more widely. From quin0115 - 11/6/09 10:29 AM Glogster looks really cool, I think that it would a great tool to use with middle school students. I am concerned that students can change their own passwords, is there anyway that Glogster can change that? From powe0144 - 11/6/09 9:28 AM I found another interesting video about Glogster EDU that might be of interest http://www.schooltube.com/video/48980/Discovery-Education-recommends-Glogster-EDU From broc0045 - 10/25/09 2:31 PM I introduced Glogster to my 5 year old and with some scaffolding he was interested and adapted his computer skills to enable the creation of a poster. He did however insist that I print it out for him. In his reception class and at home he uses the very popular Kids Pix along with word processing and games.
From beag0008 - 10/23/09 8:12 PM I love that you have written the features of Glogster EDU and also shown them in a glog along side
