"A wiki is a collaborative web site whose content can be edited by visitors to the site, allowing users to easily create and edit web pages collaboratively"1

This wiki about wikis has been created to provide teachers with a starting point to find out about wikis and how they may be used in classroom and to also share their wiki experiences with others so that we all may learn from each other. The theory is that the "knowledge of the group is greater than that of the individual"3 and that the wiki is created by the users and used by the creators so with that in mind:

we would greatly appreciate and strongly encourage any additions and edits to these wiki pages.

We think potential uses for wikis in classrooms deserves

Thank you Linda and Amy for all of your efforts in providing this section on wikis. I think the examples that you have provided, the use of video and links to further reading and the comparasion website are particularly informative. It would be great to see a consistent toolbar to all sections on each page so that readers don't miss the wonderful resources you have included in your site. Great work Wink
